OK- About the "RED 'X' PROBLEM"

D

Debbie

Hello,
I've been experiencing the same problem that many people
have too.
-"White square with a red X appears instead of the
picture."

Well, I've tried everything that people have told me, AND
what I've seen in other posts, but I still can't fix it.
I have tried: Ad-aware, Spybot, this web site:
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/ieimage.htm#IMAGEREDX
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/index.htm
And doxdesk.com
But I still have the problem! Arghh! I'm getting really
frustrated... So, please! If you know or have any more
ideas of how to fix this- tell me (or tell US!)
And what if I try repairing IE?>> Will it erase all my
favorites? I read something that said if I wanted to
repair it, then go to Control Panel-->Add or Remove
Programs--> click on IE and click on "Repair." But I
don't have the IE option there, so obviously I can't
repair it from there. And this is where I found on how to
repair it:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;Q318378
But I really don't want to repair it or anything because
I'll loose all the updates, and just to think about
downloading ALL of them again.=/

-Another problem that I'm experiencing is about the IE
Icon, you know when you type an URL and next to it the IE
blue icon appears? Or if it's Yahoo! the red 'Y' appears?
Well, now it's a weird looking square, if you want to get
a better idea of what the icon looks like please go to:
http://www.geocities.com/mycomputersproblem/ie.html
So, I'm hoping if I fix the "RED 'X' Problem" the icon
thing will get fixed too- but I doubt it. If you have any
ideas of what the icon problem is, please tell me!
I can't sleep because of thinking about these two
problems! (I'm obsessed with my computer, just in case
you were wondering why I can't sleep =)

Well, I think that's all I've got to say...

Thank you,
Debbie

Didn't we go through this a few days ago?Thought I pointed you towards
Control Panel \ Folder Options \ File Types to change back the icon
for internet shortcuts to the standard blue icon. Admittedly, everyone
here looks alike, black print on a white background.
