I get the title's blue screen at start up before the logon screen and
it says it is due to a problem with winlogon.exe
It can start in safe mode, but nothing I've done so far (like
deactivating the services loaded at startup) seems to make a difference
for it to start normally. I seriously doubt it is a hardware problem
because I haven't installed any new hardware and it happened from one
minute to another in the middle of two reboots. The only two things I
did in the middle was detecting and erasing some riskware (possible
trojans) and using a utility (named Style XP) to change some of the
visuals of my os, but I have done both of these before and nothing has
happened.
I use a Dell inspiron laptop with 512MB of memory, 3.06GHz, and XP pro.
I believe that the trojans may have done some damage to winlogon or one
of it's required files, and I would appreciate any help you can give me
to repair or restore those files, or solve any other cause you think
are likely.
Thanks in advance,
Victor D.
