Offline Folder Associations

So I enabled a network share to be availabel offline. Every file in the
folder failed to replicate (the replication process said xxx errors) yet in
syncentre there were no reported errors. Each file appears available offline,
yet when you open it you get a failure.

Ok so 10 years after I first got excited about this functionality working it
still doesn't, I go tot turn it off- there are errors with thirty odd files
when I do this so now I can't even disable offline folders. This is
especially freaking annoying because sync centre cant' tell when I return to
the wired network and the folder is back available again. Because of this
even though I'm now back on the network the failed offline folder association
is keeping the network share locked in offline mode rather than re-polling
the working network share.

So I want to fully delete this old relationship and I can't. How do you do it?

I have run into this exact problem with the "offline folder" funcionality. I
have a folder on the network that was synced and received errors and now the
folder is locked in offline/unavailable mode. Let me know if you run across a
fix for this.

Thanks,
James

Actualy for this problem got solved when I re-installed vista. I've disabled
offline folders. Such a great idea but too much of the complexity is
impossible to reach - like this issue, there is no soln. I've also found that
once I return the laptop to the network the folder is never detected as
online again until I restart windows. you can imagine how much of a pain that
is.

I had offline folders working against my main home vista PC with no trouble,
but with half of my data on the corporate network I've had to disable offline
folders and got back to using syncback, works flawlessly so far.

Brad,
1. When did you get the errors? When making the files available offline or
while syncing?
2. What OS was your corporate server and do you know if it had oplocks
enabled?
3. The offline files association will go away only if there are no items in
the offline files cache. There is a reg key you can set to clear the cache.

Thanks,
Shubhankar
