office xp install problem

i recently had to recover my system, when i went to re-
install office xp standard it didn't load excel or outlook
or ppt. i tried again to install, it worked but now it
won't let me register the product eventhough i entered
proper product key. error says unable to locate qualified
product on my machine.

help???

Could it be that you have an "upgrade" CD, and the old system had an older
Office version installed ? If so, the old Office is what's missing.
