Office XP 2003?

Hi.

I want to buy an office xp 2003 upgrade. I don't know if I am qualified. I
have an english version of office professional 7.0a. Is it Office 2000 or
Office 97?

correct, as such, although non-responsive in your case.

Office 7.0a is actually Office 95. I'm not sure if that version of Office
would be a qualifying version to enable an upgrade to Office 2003.

Bad news, I'm afraid. Microsoft Office 7.x was better known as
"Microsoft Office for Windows 95" in marketing terms, or simply
"Office 95" to most of us. According to Microsoft's web site, "Office
95 doesn't qualify for the version upgrade price of Office 2003
Editions."
