Office Applications won't 'Save As' after Windows Update from 4/11

Office Applications won't 'Save As' after Windows Update from 4/11/06. The
pulldown menu won't display and, instead, the title bar displays "not
responding".

This seems to have happened only after some computers have run the update. I
have seen 4 cases today. Checking for Office updates shows everything is
current and running detect and repair didn't help.

Has anyone else seen this problem? do you have a fix?

It wasn't an office update that did it, it was a windows update... KB908531

Other Solution - from NY
You can remove the Security Update for Windows XP (KB 908531) via "Add
or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel. You can find the update by
checking the "Show Updates" box. This is much easier than changing the
Registry per the Article ID #918165.
