Office and Student

I bought Microsoft office and student several months ago including word and
excel. Excel works fine but each time I open word it takes several minutes
to go through a "configuring" process. Very annoying. How do I stop this?

Do you have more than one version of Word (e.g., Word 2003 and
Word 2007) installed on the same computer? If yes, then you can
modify the Windows registry as described in
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=928091 "Information about
using 2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that is
running another version of Office" to stop the configuring process.
