Office 97 on Windows XP

Has anybody ran into performance issues when running
Office 97 on a Windows XP Pro systems?
We run Office 97 as a corp standard, however, when recently
upgrading to WinXP we are finding that simple tasks in
Word 97 like highlighting a small paragraph of text and
changing the text to bold is taking a minute to minute and
a half to complete. Uninstalling Office 97 and installing
Office 2K on this same system produced a huge performance
increase with the same task.

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

TIA

I have seen no problems with Office 97 (SR-2 version) with XP Pro...
soemthing else beside Office 97 is root-cause of problem, I think.

That's just it, all Office 97 & WinXP updates are applied,
Therefore, if this problem is not widespread, it must me
other environmental variables.

Thanks,
