Office 2000 Trying to Install When I Open Outlook--Error 1706

I hope I'm in the right thread--don't know what I'm doing. I just bought
Office 2007 and preferred to keep my old 2000 email. Yesterday I was getting
rid of "extra" programs and deleted Office 2000--when I couldn't open my
email, I figured that was not a good idea. I ran a system restore and that
fixed the problem except that now every time I open my email I get a popup
that tells me that it's trying to install Office 2000 and I need to insert
Micosoft Office SR-1 disk. Selecting "cancel" does not good. I don't have
the disk; want to keep email as it is...just don't want this popup. I can
get around this by keeping my email open and just minimizing it, but that's
just a bandaid solution. I would so appreciate any help.

This has nothing to do with winxp, but the method you used to install Office
2007 and delete Office2000

Assuming you used Outlook 2000 for your old email, and that the version of
Office 2007 also contained Outlook 2007 then you wouldnt have lost your old
email or any other data files for that matter

Your old outlook data files can be read by any later version of Outlook
So the question is does your version of Office 2007 include Outlook?
