OE / ActiveX issues

Guest

Hi..
Lately, for some reason while trying to read and view (html settings)
my e-mail in Outlook Express, I keep getting this error message:
"Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this
page. As a result, the page may not view correctly".
I have set my security settings in Internet Options to default settings, but
it still doesn't work.
This has only recently become an issue. I have been using OE for some time
and but now I am receiving this error message..
Any advice or assistance will be accepted and greatly appreciated.

Hi apeke :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Disable the Script Debugger in IE (Line 142) - Win XP
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

"Your current security settings prohibit running Active X controls on this
page. As a result pages may not display correctly."
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/acxen.htm
or
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN;Q319585&LN=EN

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the OE links PA, However, I don't see anything pertaining to my
ActiveX issue.

I do not recommend this but:
Tools | Options | Security
Set it to Internet zone.

1. You've still not told us your Windows version.

2. The links above my sig were for OE-specific newsgroups, more-appropriate
ones to which you can post your OE questions.
