Our application needs IE6 and a third party ActiveX control. We found that
when some PCs download the ActiveX control, it will be blocked and show a
dialog box "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls
on this
page. As a result, the page may not display correctly."
We then set the security of the IE to allow download and execute all ActiveX
controls, even non-signed one. However, it is still not allowed to execute
the control. We further allow all download and execution of ActiveX controls
in both Internet zone and local zone. The problem still persists. After
several appearance of the dialog box, the dialog box becomes disappear and
the IE seems to simply ignore the control. Finally it just showed an
Javascript error message "Object doesn't support this property or method"
when the web page call the ActiveX control.
We found that not all PCs have this problem. Does anyone experience similar
problem? Is there any way to allow off-line installation of ActiveX control?
Any helping hand is highly appreciated. Thanks.
