O/L 2003 - error message - checking personal folders

I am running XP pro w/O/L 2003. If I experience a power interruption, upon
reboot, and restart of O/L, I receive an error message - "The data file
"Personal Folders" was not closed propertly - the file PST is being checked
for problems". This takes 5 - 10 minutes and is incredibly frustrating and
time consuming - any workaround?

No workaround other than get yourself a UPS unit. These backup power supply
devices generally offer enough battery power for you to shut down
programs/computer off gracefully.
