Nvida Gforce4 MX 4000 128 MB and Aero?

mac

I have a Nvida Gforce 4MX 4000 128MB agp video card. Windows Premium does
not give the option of Aero. I also have 1 Gig RAM.

I would have thought that this card had enough muscle to run Aero settings?
Do you know if this card supports Aero?

Thanks,
mac

You should be OK in my view.
I'm using the same video card on my GA-8PE667 Ultra
with 1Giga RAM. On this PC I'm running Vista Beta RC2 5744.

On my other PC I run Vista Ultimate with Asus PB5 Deluxe,
Physical Memory Total 2046 MB
CPU #0 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz, 2400 MHz
and Video Adapter Properties NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS 256Mb
Product Information http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=products
Driver Download http://www.nvidia.com/drivers

Monitor Name SyncMaster 911N/920N,SyncMaster Magic CX918N [NoDB]
Product Information http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitor/index.htm
Driver Download

I my opinion, there isn't much difference between these two PC,
as far as running Vista is concerned.
I'd be tempted to say - that Vista Beta is visually faster rather
than Vista Ultimate on my (Vista ready PC) and Windows Mail is
noticeably slower than on Beta. Windows Internet Explorer
is much slower too.

Hi, Having used that nVidia card in the past and now using a 7900 GTX I think
you will find that the pipeline and pixel rendering on your card is under par
for running Aero. Even though the card originally was a good card it is now
outdated technology wise and that is why you are having troubles.

Correct. Even my NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS shows the age.
However, having to economize - one must make a "hard decision"..-;)
When prices come down a bit, I'll shop around for a video card.
