NTLDR is missing...

Ok, here is what happened. I was working yesterday with
my computer doing graphich design with photoshop and
everything was fine when I shut down my computer.

Then next morning when I started my computer I got the
message NTLDR IS MISSING, PRESS ctrl+alt+del to reboot.

What has happened and how do I repair this ???

Hi

Boot with your XP CD in the cd drive. Select 'To repair..' by pressing 'R'. When in the Recovery Console type the following:

"copy X:\i386\ntldr C:\" - without the quotes. Where X is the letter of your CD drive and C is the letter of your system drive. Take the XP CD out of the cd drive and reboot into XP normally.

I too am having this problem however the machine did not come with disk. the recovery is located on the system?

Hi

Didn't you get any kind of XP CD with your computer? If not contact your PC supplier and ask them how you are supposed to reinstall XP. You can access the Recovery Console with:

"Windows XP Home Edition Utility: Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install"
