ntdll.dll keeps dying on startup

Hi

I hd a problem with my HD ealier in the week which was resolved, the only
remaining problem being that most of the time when I start up windows, I get
a crash message from svchost regarding ntdll.dll. (this can actually happen
a short while after windows starts up) I have tried replacing the ntdll.dll
manually, and have run sfc /scannow, problem remains. Does anyone have any
advice on this?

This MAY provide the answer:

You receive a "Generic Host Process" error message after you start the
