ntbacup problems

I loaded ntbackup from xp home. When backing up I get to section where you press start backup and message pop ups, (the backup file name could not be used, please ensure it is a valid file path and that you have sufficient access>
File path name is D:\backup 30-07-04.
What should the file name be, is it anything special? I am trying to back up to a DVD+R disc.

The backup program that comes with Windows does not recognize optical media
as a backup device. (neither CDR or DVDR)

My personal choice for backing up to DVD +R is Stomp's "BackUP MyPC."
