OK two days ago I ran two different spyware detectors and two virus detectors. After i finished i had to restart my computer and when it came to the windows login screen I tried to type in my password but my keyboard wasn't working or my mouse for that matter. So, since I have three computers in my house I decided to try the different keyboards which didn't help at all. Then I tried to see if the keyboard would work at all so when it came to the place in loading windows when you can hit F8 to bring up that menu I did and I got in, so I tried everything in that list and nothing help me because none of it works until you actually get into your computer, it doesn't work at the login screen. I don't have a back-up floppy or anything for this computer because it is relativily new. So, if anyone can help please help me

You don't say if the detectors detected anything or not. But it sounds like
running setup to repair your installation might be in order. The KB article,
"Repairing, Recovering, and Restoring an Installation of Windows 2000", is
at
<<http://support.microsoft.com/?id=268106>>. That has a link at the bottom,
which in turn redirects you to the "Repair, Recovery, and Restore" web page
at
<<http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/samplechapters/fndc/f
ndc_rec_uctu.asp>>, from which you can download the "Repair, Recovery, and
Restore" chapter at
<<http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/samplechapters/fndc/F
NDC_REC.doc>>

thanks, sorry for not saying what it detected. most of the programs found where small spyware programs like bargain buddy and stuff like that. but one of my detectors found a worm on the windowupdate.exe and I think a trojan on another exe file. I don't believe that those programs were deleted though because the program froze (TDS-3) anyways those are the only major things found the rest were small and don't usually mess with system files and so on
