Win2k Does Not Recognize Keyboard or Mouse on Upgraded Computer

My wife's computer was old and slow and some of the components
(the floppy drive, the integrated network card) were no longer
working, so we went out to buy her a new computer.

We got a Shuttle bare bones system. I installed a new CPU and
memory in it and I moved her existing hard drive, with Win2k,
from her old computer. I also moved her existing keyboard and
mouse to the new computer.

When the computer starts, I can access the bios and do what I
want. It responds to the keyboard just fine. When Win2k starts, I
can hit F8 to go into safe mode. However, whether I'm in safe
mode or not, when Win2k gets to the login screen, it ignores all
input from the keyboard and mouse.

I tried starting up again with a different keyboard and mouse and
it made no difference.

The keyboard and mouse both worked on the old computer. On both
the old computer and new, they are connected via the PS2 ports.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get this computer
working, I'd greatly appreciate it.
