Notebook partitions Win 2k setup

Hi, I'm installing Windows 2000 on a laptop which had
windows 2000 previously, then upgraded to XP, then had a
dual boot with win2k and XP but the 2k boot did not work.
So now i'm just reinstalling Win2k booting it from the CD
but I've run into a puzzling point in the installation:
the partition of the hard drives. I'd like to do a clean
install. Right now during the install, I've got a screen
asking about drives and partitions and it gives me the
option to delete partitions, etc. It says this: 5154 MB
Disc 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi
--EISA Utilities 15 MB
C: FAT 2045 MB (627 MB free)
D: NTFS 3093 MB (1760 MB free)
Any ideas? What's the best partition setup for a clean
install of win 2k on a laptop? Thanks!
dan

1. You may remove all of the partitions and have one single partition
comprising the total size of the disk.
Or
2. If you want to maintain the EISA (tools partition), you may remove the
existing partitions, except for the EISA partition, create one partition for
C: and after installing windows 2000, create an additional primary partition
using disk management in windows 2000.
It rather depends upon whether you want to have a separate partition to make
backing up data easier.
