Hi,

I've got this strange issue with Outlook XP. Any time a message is sent to
me (either to my Exchange account or to my POP3 account), it doesn't actually
show up in my inbox until I've clicked on another message. I had been using
Windows 2000 previously until my work computer was upgraded, and I didn't
have this issue then. Updated to Office Service Pack 3 thinking that might
help, but it didn't. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thanks.

Any type of desktop firewall software installed? (What you describe sounds
like a UDP packet not reaching your workstation from the Exchange server.
This UDP packet travels on an arbritrary port > 1023. Anything between
server/desktop that interferes with this packet in arriving will cause the
issue you describe.)

Hi,

Thanks for answering my question.

This is a fresh installation of Windows XP + Service Pack 2 - the Windows
Firewall was on, however creating an exception for outlook.exe and even
disabling the firewall altogether did not resolve the issue.
