"Not Responding" when saving ttachment

D

Dussan Pirc

I have Outlook 2003 SP2 running on Windows XP SP2 all with latest SP
distributed by WSUS. I'm using "Cached Exchange Mode", Outlook is connected
to Exchange server trough quite fast vlan.

Problem - when I try to save attachment on different location as default
(My Documents) outlook hangs up with error "Not Responding".

Any help would be appreciated.

With regards,

Do you have alot of mapped drives? Try waiting past the "not responding"
message, if you have alot of mapped drives that could be what is taking so
long. Quite often Outlook will respond again if you're patient so you don't
have to start again.

Dussan,

Check to see what other processes you are running- on Task Manager. Do you
have any 3rd party tools or a backup software running for you your My
Documents folder? Also check to see if you Outlook is trying to do a
send/receive at the same time. There may be another processes or program
taking up resources e.g. Virus scanner.
