Hi,

I have been away for a week and when I came to log back into to my e-mail,
this message kept coming up and new e-mail aren't getting into my inbox

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'pop.ntlworld.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

"Unexpectedly terminated" is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

Hi Sam/Gary,

Thanks for your replies. I am running Norton 360, but it's never caused this
problem before. I have now disabled e-mail scanning and am re-trying my
e-mail. If this doesn't work I will try upgrading to windows live mail. I'll
keep you posted!

When programs don't work the way they are supposed to, you can't predict how
they will work. So that is why "it's never caused this problem before"
might not be relevant. I hope it works good for you now and if it does then
just consider it an example of the unpredictability of bugs.
