I regulary check my emails and today when i clicked 'send and recieve' it
came up with this error message

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'pop.ntlworld.com',
Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I am no sure how to solve this problems so suggestions would be great thank
you!

"Unexpectedly terminated" is usually caused by interference from an
antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

That's not the complete error message.
Do you get an error message when you try to send or receive? If so,
right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

I keep getting an error message that says:
The host 'pop' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.
Account: 'Home', Server: 'pop', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

Yes you need to put in the actual server name and maybe some other specific
settings. Who is your email provider - just the part AFTER the @ symbol
please?

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'Emailing:
Michael's tournament 09' 002 (2)', Account: 'pop.live.com', Server:
'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.7.0 Must issue a
STARTTLS command first', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 530, Error
Number: 0x800CCC78

THIS THE FULL DETAIL..... PASTED FOR YOU
THANK YOU
NORMA

That server requires the SSL option to be enabled:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then check the SSL option (two places). The complete settings
are documented here:
http://mailcall.spaces.live.com/Blog/cns!CC9301187A51FE33!49799.entry

Also, I recommend using port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.
Currently that is not the source of your problem, but it could become so
in the future.
