Not receiving email from my own address

I often need to send email from my own address to my own address and have
never had a problem doing this in the past with WM. Now all of a sudden, I
can send it...but don't receive it. The emails come into the web based
servers, but not to Windows Mail. I recently updated my AVG anti-virus to
their latest free edition, but I have no idea if that might be the reason.
Any ideas on how to fix this???

Which mail provider? Some (like Gmail) don't allow you to retrieve a
message sent to yourself.

TDS (tds.net). I've never had a problem with this using WM or TDS in the
past. When I send the email from my WM account and check the TDS account all
of my tests are sitting there. For whatever reason, they just don't show up
in my WM inbox. No idea...

This is a POP account, right, not IMAP?

Do you have the TDS account in Windows Mail configured to remove
messages from the server after download (which is the default)?
That way you can tell if WM told the server, "I downloaded that message,
delete it."

When you check mail with WM, does it respond "No new messages"
in the status bar?

It is not likely that AVG is causing that symptom, but do the following:
Your AVG antivirus was probably installed with its default install option.
If so, uninstall it, then reinstall, but select 'custom' install, which then
allows you to unselect installing its troublesome email scanning module.
