Windows Live is a set of *services*. YOU are *not* running Microsoft's
Live services. Perhaps you meant Windows Live /Mail/ (WLM), an e-mail
program, got installed on your host.
I have set up another email account with Hotmail,

Does that mean you created a new Live Hotmail account? Or that you
defined a new e-mail account in WLM? If you had or created a new Live
Hotmail account and then created a new e-mail account definition within
WLM, what /type/ of account did you define in WLM? Is it a POP or
HTTP/Deltasync account definition in WLM?
but I am not receiving Emails through that account.

Do you have any e-mails to receive from that new Live Hotmail account?
When using their webmail interface to your e-mail account, are there
any items in the Inbox folder? If there are no [new] items in your
Inbox folder for your mailbox on the server then there is nothing that
an e-mail client can retrieve from there.
What have I done wrong.

Depends on the error message issued by WLM that you didn't mention here.
Is there an error message when you try to poll your Live Hotmail account
using the WLM client? If WLM does not issue an error dialog, enable its
troubleshooting logging feature to see the progress of its commands sent
to the mail server. If the mail server is sending a NUL (empty) list of
message IDs in response to the LIST or UID commands (if using POP) then
the e-mail client being told by the mail server that there are no items
sitting in your mailbox. I quit using WLM awhile ago after a month-long
trial and don't recall if there is a troubleshooting log for Deltasync
connects to Microsoft's mail server.

None of the above is an issue with Windows XP, the topic of this
newsgroup. WLM has its own newsgroup with visitors there that are
focused on that program, and which is at:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

("Desktop" was removed from the product's title but remains in the
newsgroup name.)
