Not prompted to enter my password

I am not prompted to enter my password which is protecting a read-only
document and therefore I cant save my changes.
 
If you have entered a modify password, then you should be prompted for that
when you *open* the document. If you didn't give the password and opened the
document read only you cannot save the changes - though you should be able
to save with a new name.
