Your system resources are being used by loading applications at startup.
Go to: Start/Run/type MSCONFIG and click O
Click the Startup tab and uncheck/disable everything except your anti-viru
program, if Norton, it will start with NA
Click Apply and Close. Reboo
Untick the notice that you've changed your startup after reboot
Also, delete cookies, delete files (including offline content).
Run Start/All Programs/Accessosries/Disk cleanu
Note: Disabling applications at startup does not delete files, only stop
them from loading and using valuable system resources (memory).

Hi Balaji,

there are many different possible causes of "Not Enough Memory".

See http://www.Decisionmodels.com/memlimitsc.htm for a list of common

With memory chips so low why don't you buy another 256 MB and end
your troubles. XP runs much better with more memory. :)
