not enough memory

Cheryl

I have a computer with a 1.3ghtz processor and 256 MB ram
and when I try to open up a Java based game, the system
says there's not enough memory. The CPU goes from 2% to
89% and goes up and down from there. Any suggestions on
what's going on. For example: If I am at POGO and try
to get into a game room the system says there's not
enough memory.
Someone did mention at Pogo something about a Shadow,
have no idea what that means.

Please help.

Something must be consuming a lot of your memory because I have run pogo
games with only 256mb of ram with no problems at all. Never heard of a
"Shadow" at pogo.

Hi Cheryl,

Did you place any constraints on the virtual memory or install a memory
manager program?

Buy some more
You have plenty of physical RAM to run the little Java games on Pogo.
Buying more is unnecessary and will not solve your problem. You may not
have Java installed, unless you were able to successfully run these
games a few days ago and suddenly they stopped working. If you need to
install Java, go here: http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp and click the
Get It Now button in the upper-right corner. It can't hurt you to do
this in any case.

Other problems can arise if your computer is infected with viruses
and/or spyware. Be sure you have a current antivirus program running
and that it has updated definitions. Regularly remove spyware with the
free programs Spybot Search & Destroy (www.security.kolla.de) and
Ad-aware (www.lavasoftusa.com).

HTH,

Malke
