Not all attachments can be rendered

I am trying to allow my users to send faxes from their
pc's through a shared fax on my server. My server is
using Small Business Server 2000. From my server I can:
Send a fax from Word, Send a fax using the SendFax
wizard, and send a fax with outlook 2002 using [FAX:nnn]
in the to field. But, when testing from my XP Pro PC I
can: send a fax from Word, send a fax using the SendFax
wizard, but CANNOT send using Outlook 2002. I get the
message "The Microsoft Fax transport failed to deliver
the message to the recipient. Not all attachments can
be rendered." I have followed all the instructions in
the Knowledgebase article 325807 How to Set up the Small
Business Server 2000 SHared Fax Service.

What type of attachment? The file type must have a printto verb defined for
the OS in order to call the appropriate application to render the file when
you fax from Outlook.

It fails even with NO attachments. But you raise an
interesting point...Ah ha, when I change the email format
to either 'text file' or 'rtf format' it works. But why
can my server send HTML formatted faxes but not my own
PC?

Time to head to an SBS group to see if Win XP Fax can serve as a client to
SBS 2000. I suspect it cannot. Looks like version mismatch to me.
