Not able to open pdf file from a webpage

Hi,
My OS is windowsXP Pro and I am running IE 6. I also have adobe acrobat
professional 6 loaded in the PC. When I tried to open a pdf file from a
webpage, I can only see a tiny little red cross on the page. I have no idea
why but i don't have any problem opening this pdf file from that webpage in
other PC with XP Pro and Acrobat Pro 6. I emailed the pdf file to the
questionable computer and I have no problem opening it with acrobat pro 6. It
is just the IE 6 can't load up the pdf file. Do you guys knows why?

I had the same problem - see earlier post - finally, I uninstalled adobe
6.0.2 then 6.0.1 then reloaded and installed adobe 6.0.2 from their website.
It worked and there is a popup that asks if you want adobe to start from
inside your browser. Click yes. It did not work if I just did a reinstall
without first doing an uninstall and the fix and repair function did not
work. Bill
