can open pdf file from webpage

Hi,
My OS is windowsXP Pro and I am running IE 6. I also have adobe acrobat
professional 6 loaded in the PC. When I tried to open a pdf file from a
webpage, I can only see a tiny little red cross on the page. I have no idea
why but i don't have any problem opening this pdf file from that webpage in
other PC with XP Pro and Acrobat Pro 6. I emailed the pdf file to the
questionable computer and I have no problem opening it with acrobat pro 6. It
is just the IE 6 can't load up the pdf file. Do you guys knows why?

Thanks

Billy

I have XP home, IE6, Acrobat reader 6. Same proble when trying to launch from
a webpage. After aminute or so, I get a popup window with the following
"Cannot find Acrobat reader window handler." When I close that another window
opens "An internal error has occurred." Acrobat works fine when I lanch it on
its own, the plug in seems to be malfunctioning. Where can I find the plug in
files, and if corrupted or absent where can I find replacements for them.
These would be the plugins for IE6 into acrobat.

I have the same problem - just put in all the new patches to Win2000 and
Office XP2002 and now my PDF reader from Adobe can't be found in IE 6. I run
Adobe 6 (latest update from Adobe) and it says the plugin is not registered
in IE - would I like to do so. I answer yes and it appears to do the
install. Still no PDF reader plugin for IE--- ( I have rebooted ).

See if this fixes the problem:

In Adobe Reader / Edit / Preferences / Left pane: Internet
/ Right pane: under Web Browser Options make sure "Display PDF
in browser" is checked / (I have the other 3 items checked
also).

Hi,

I had the same problem. In my case an earlier Acrobat (Reader 5.0) was
installed after the Professional 6.0 installation. I think it came
with a stupid printer driver or similar.

I could fix it by uninstalling the 5.0 Reader and by doing a repair
for the Professional 6.0.
