Hi
I seem to be unable to delte messages in my deleted items folder. They just
sit there, when I try to delete them individually I get a message that an
unexpected problem ..... I also have the occasional problem of messages
failing to send straight away.

I have read previous posts about the problems with McAfee but having brought
the computer with it installed I am dubious about uninstalling it!!!

Any comments welcome

Get the Hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941090/en-us

save to hard drive and install.

It works for all folders.

Thanks for that, but have tried that just after posting the thread and that
has not worked also. Any further ideas??

I have to ask this, because it has happened several times previously :-)

You DID navigate to the downloaded Hotfix and install it?

Did you also try a Reboot after the install, sometimes that helps, then try
to delete them again

You mentioned another possible cause in your original post, McAfee?

The free ones that are compatible with Windows Mail are:

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
and
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

When installing either of those select custom install, and do NOT install
the mail scan part.
