Some friendly advice on installing any software/games you might have doubts
about working in Vista that worked on backdated Microsoft operating systems
..
Do a back up via System Restore. Name it appropriately (eg, Before
Installing xxxxxxxx).
It only takes a minute or two.
NB. don't modify the folder that the suspect program/game installed to or if
so return it to its normal state before restoring.

This has saved me over the last few weeks. I only under went the transition
from WinXP sp2 a month back and was very skeptical. Having a nice list of
apps and games I had to install it is taking some time to get back on track.
But what the hey, you gotta get with the times sooner rather than later.

People rely too heavily on System Restore. I used it sparingly in XP and
avoid it in Vista. It does not work 100% true at all times. Down the track
you will find that you will be doing a reinstall. The more you do SR, the
more the system slowly corrupts.
that is from my experience since XP came out with it.
