I just installed a copy of Windows XP professional, and I installed the driver for my sound card. I checked with the device manager, and it is detecting the sound card and the control center trouble shooter reports that the "device is working properly." I also ran the dxdiag command in the run environment, and here is the problem. the dxdiag command brings up the direct X diagnostic tool, and under the sound tab I rna the test direct sound, and I get the message back at the bottom that reads: "failure at step 19 (user verification of software) HRESULT = 0x 000000000 (error code)" so what is wrong?

What kind of sound card? Have you downloaded the latest driver/firmware for
the card?
