Your best moderator would be the "KILL FILE" or whatever your
particular email/newsreader program calls it. The posters
who are obnoxious are usually consistent so they are easy
to spot.

Years of experience has taught me to never respond to
'trolls', people who post for the sole purpose of creating
negativity. One response leads to another, etc. etc.

Again, the KILL FILE is your friend!

Hope this two cents helps . . .

Michael

Yes, the virtual killfile is a budding serial killers best friend! Only
those that torture and killed small animals as kids need to use one.
People with self-control and self esteem don't need killfiles.

Thanks. It certainly will help. I guess it is my fault as well but I get
angry and respond. Now I will look for a KILL FILE or its equivalent in
Outlook Express.
Thanks again

I never used the twitfile [original name for the killfile from FIDOnet].

Anyway, to me, its just like viruses, I just choose not to download in
the first place.

You are contradicting yourself. Using a killfile IS using self control!
;)

Nope. Self-control is seeing the post, but not opening it.

When I get mad and I get pissed
I take out a pen and write out a list
Of all the people who won't be missed
You've made my shitlist

And Outlook Express makes the above easy, thanks MacroHard.

Grin. I often get emails from people wanting to buy my website for $200
to $1,000. Just for the heck of it, I do some searching/research first
and often find out all they want is a site with some traffic to buy and
then autodirect to some horrid "fix windows automatically" webpage to
sell their useless crapware.

As a professional courtesy to the legit inquiry, I send a reply back
saying it's NOT FOR SALE, but then get a return message that often says.
"Everything is for sale".

My hobby is my website. My guess is that there are a lot of other
webmasters who feel the same way.

Well Philip, wait until Norton crashes your system so that you can't do
anything with it...then you call the techs (who all speak broken English) and
they tell you it's everyones fault but theirs. The last problem I had with
Norton was a pop-up called "Symantec User Session" The text: Symantec User
Session has encountered a problem and needs to close, We are sorry for the
inconvenience. Then it gives you the option to report it, or close. If you
click to report it (to Microsoft) a web page pops up saying the problem is a
conflict between and Windows and Norton, and even though both sides have
worked on it, they can't resolve it. How stupid is THAT? Why doesn't Norton
just be honest and tell people not to buy the software if you are running
Windows? All 5 of the Norton techs I talked to didn't have a clue as to what
to do to fix it. By the way, it really DOES make your system run like
molasses. I just wish Microsoft would come out with it's own software to run
with Windows.

Oh dear oh dear ! You're both wrong !

McaFee software has been trashing PC's since day 1 ,( a very long time ago
they advised customers that were having problems with their a/v product to
only install Mcafee and nothing else LOL ....Roxio also did that with early
versions of their "Easy CD Creator software," they even advised people to
use it, and only it - on the customers PC !!!

Norton is bloatware but, I love it. It's surprisingly robust considering
the myriad hardware and software environments it gets stuffed into !!

Of course there will be people who have had no problems with Mcafee ...(pure
luck in my view),
and there will be people who have problems with Norton but, as always the
people with problems make a lot of noise, and those with no problems have no
cause to make any noise,so don't make any noise at all !!!

regards, Richard

That's BS FUD !

McAfee Software does NOT trash computers ! I have been using there software for years in
many versions both corporate and retail.

"Why doesn't Norton just be honest and tell people not to buy the software

The answer to your question is obvious. How many customers would Norton
have if they only sold to Home Users not having a Windows operating system?

Hope this helps.
