Norton AntiVirus Suts Down During Full Scan

Dave

This morning I started a scan on my computer with Norton AntiVirus as I do
once a week. A few minutes into the scan Norton shut down and I received an
error signature navw32.exe message. The Symantec website recommends
uninstalling and reinstalling. I'd like to know why this occurred or what
could have possibly caused this error since I've done nothing different to
this computer. I'm not real comfortable with uninstalling something if it's
not necessary.
I have run the virus scan through all the computer files separately with no
problem. It's only when I run a full scan on the computer that this message
shows up.

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

I used to run Norton but found it did not pick all
viruses etc.So bought a McAfee. This is always on, and
does a virus check automatically the whole time you are
online. It also automatically loads any new DAT's
