You sure the setup screen for NOD32 that the NOD32 splash screen is set to
enabled to show the splash screen?
The other part sounds like a corrupted Windows NT based user profile that
happens sometimes that controls the icons that are going to show in the
Sys Tray area with a hit or miss situation as to what icons are going to
show. Someone in another NG posted a fix for this that requires a registry
correction that I have not applied but I can ask the person for the fix.
If you go to Start button/Run and enter MSCONFIG, select the Startup tab
and NOD32KUI is check marked, then it's not NOD32's problem. You can check
the startup for NOD32KUI OFF/ON and reboot and see if the icon is going to
show. That's what I do if I just have to have one of the icons show, which
I have several of them in the Sys Tray. Sometimes, one to none will show
and I have several of them but I know that the applications are NT Service
applications and they running. I should apply the NT fix. <g>

Thanx for quick response. Splash screen enabled in setup. Checked msconfig
and NOD32 is not in the startup list! Have noted Steve's info but am not
too happy about messing with the register - but it may be the only
solution. Have uninstalled and reinstalled NOD32 but no change.
