no windows update support for windows xp RTM?

Nico

I have noticed this thing in the windows update website that says that
support for windows XP RTM is ending im not sure what exactly that meant.

does this mean that I can't download any new security/critical updates for
older versions of windows xp from the windows update website? if so, when
does the support actually end?

or does it mean that I only can't download services packs anymore for older
versions of windows xp?

I have windows xp pro (version year 2002) Im assuming that this is an old
version of windows xp.

RTM = Release To Manufacturing
This is Windows XP as it was 2 years ago without any Service Packs or other
patches.
If you have Service Pack 1 or 2 installed, this does not apply to you.
Patches will no longer be made with the RTM version in mind so later patches
may or may not install.
If your computer has any importance to you at all it needs to have at least
SP-1 preferably SP-2.
