No USB after installing W2K SP3

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this. Perhaps another forum
would better?
I have a Compaq Presario 5700T running Windows 2000. After I installed SP3,
the USB ports no longer worked. I researched this matter and learned that
this may be the result of a bug in SP3. So as recommended, I installed SP4.
Still no USB ports. Any suggestions as to how to remedy this would be
greatly appreciated.

Hello TRJ,

Install at least SP4 for windows 2000 and all other updates after SP4 some
between 70 and 100 until now.

Best regards

Hello TRJ,

Try to reinstall USB with device manager. If this doesn't work update to
the latest patches, there where some additional USB updates included.
