i get nothing, i cant find anything in the device manager or in the taskbar

When I attach a USB device for the first time, a message appears that
essentially says the hardware is ready to be used. The next time that same
device is attached in the same USB port (and the default Windows sound
scheme is active), it works a little differently. There is a two-tone sound
but no text message.

The text message might appear again if I plug that device into a
*different* port. Depends on how the driver is written and implemented for
that device. If the message does appear about new hardware being installed,
it's really just driver management and not a full install/notification.
This is normal for some but not all devices.

So don't feel helpless. Instead, break the problem down to its simplest
parts. Start with: Are the USB ports working? Do they show up in Device
Manager? If yes, continue.

How are the USB devices being connected? Directly to the computer or to a
USB hub. If using a hub, try the ports on the computer. If the ports on the
computer work, does the hub have its own power supply? I prefer these since
the PC ports only deliver so much power to the hubs. When it's used up, you
can't attach anymore USB devices.

Do you have front or back ports? If front, have the leads from those ports
been attached to the motherboard? Some systems ship with them disconnected.
Or they may have been accidentally dislodged.

Some systems have a setting in BIOS to enable/disable USB. Check settings
to be sure it is enabled.

If you get this far with everything checking out okay, try something that
has an LED that lights up when connected: a USB mouse, for example. (If
possible, test on another computer to be sure LED is working.) If the LED
doesn't light up when the mouse is attached, then your USB ports are either
disabled somehow (see above) or broken.

it does not show up in the device manager, but in tthe boot setup it shows
the usb controller is enabled but in the hardware in boot setup it shows not
installed :( . i tried re-downloading the drivers but i didnt get any results.

I don't follow you completely.

The USB ports aren't in Device Manager.
They are enabled in "boot setup" (same as BIOS settings?)

But the hardware in boot setup shows "not installed." Is this the same area
where it's enabled? If yes, a "not installed" message here would mean there
is no communication between your USB ports and the motherboard. Until
that's established, Windows won't pick up on them. Next step is to figure
out why the BIOS is reporting "not installed."

As mentioned before, there may be a wire/connectors going from the ports
that needs to be attached to the motherboard. For example - many systems
ship with the back ports connected but not the front ones. Extra steps
(connecting the ports to the motherboard) need to be taken to get those
front ones working too.

Or possibly, there are some motherboard drivers that need installing.
You'll need to check your driver disks and system manuals to find out if
this is the case.
