No TV Sound Media Player 9.0

I have a new Gateway 510XL Media Center system. While trying to figure out what this would/could do I read somewhere that on an an XP machine with Win Media Player 9.0 I could play my recorded TV shows. I moved a recorded show to another computer with XP/9.0 and that is true. However, there is no sound. Ididn't SEE the fine print. What's wrong?

Open up your Audio properties and make sure some obscure box isn't muted.
