No standy mode available? (MSI KT3 Ultra)

For whatever reason, I don't have the ability to put my computer in
standby mode at all (i.e. "Standy" does not show up at all as an
option under Start->Shutdown or anywhere in the Power control panel).
My computer type is "ACPI ... etc" (as listed in device manager) and
it certainly does not have any problem shutting down when the shot
down is initiated from software.

Motherboard is MSI KT3 Ultra (latest BIOS). Current operating system
is Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP3, though the same issue was present
with Windows XP and Windows 2000 Pro.

I've had this computer for well over a year now and its always had
this problem - it just so happens that I've never really needed to use
standby mode in the past so it wasn't a big deal... now I'm missing
it.

Any idea where the problem may lie?

Hi Tired,

This behavior can occur when you have a third-party OEM device driver or service
installed on your computer. For more information, see the following Microsoft

Shutting Down Your Computer in Windows 2000
