Why won't w2k standby?

Standby on my w2k system works great. Start -> Shutdown -> Standy works
fine, as does the "Sleep" button on my Microsoft keyboard.

Same with hibernate. Works great -- when I initiate it manually.

BUT I can't get it to work with the screen-saver power settings. Currently
I have it set up to start the screen-saver up after 15 minutes (because I
want a password on the system when it sleeps), monitor turn off after
20mins, standby after 30 mins. The screen-saver and monitor-turnoff work
just as expected -- but the system WILL NOT put itself into Standy or
Hibernate mode.

Any guesses? Is some extra juju required to make this work?

Thanks,
Gary

perhaps try changing the ACPI setting in the BIOS?

Hm. I thought those settings determined whether Standby/Hibernate was
possible at all, not just by a timer. If Standby/Hibernate works fine
manually, is the BIOS still the likely culprit?
