No sound!

Just suddenly, no sound, no reason. When I checked my
device manager, found that one device has a wee yellow
sign. It is the Microsoft kernel dls synthesizer. I have
tried to find it online, but failed. What should I do
now? Help.....

1) i do not run windows xp, i run 2000pro
2) it say:Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this
key: HKEY_USERS. If it doesn't have a Data entry in the
right pane that reads: (value not set), double click
(Default) and delete it. If it does, check your
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21 keys for the same.

it will not allow you to delete the default entries.
