no sound

I need HELP!!! I have recently restored my computer and now I have no
sound,I can here the dial-up connection sound and sometimes I will get a
error beep but thats all,, and the error message is telling me that there is
no sound card,, where did it go if I had it before the restore??? and I am
not comp smart so please respond with laymons terms

A sound card needs drivers for it to work.Check your paperwork that came with
your system and your install CD,somewhere in there you will find documentation
and the drivers to install for your sound card.
