NO Sound with new hard drive

Instaled a new hard drive A western digital 250 GB . and Instaled Windows
xp home edition. I followed all the promps now i have no sound.In the control
panel Iv checked the sound It says no Audio Device also in the sound hardware
test wizard it say,s sound hardware cannot play sounds Can anybody out there
tell me where i screwed up and how to fix it .Wil i have tto buy a sound card
also

You did a clean install to a new drive? The problem isn't the drive, you
haven't completed the install.

Install the motherboard chipset drivers. These will be on a CD that came
with the system. Or, identify the motherboard (you had the case open so
you can look at the model number silkscreened on it) and download them from
the manufacturer's site.

Once you've done that the audio and other components should be fine.

got It going. Luck would have it the CD with all the drivers were in the box from when i had the new motherboard put in.He never told me id have to reinstall the sound driver going to have a long talk with him but thank you its up and running with sound thank you
