no sound since installing WIN xp

i have just upgraded from win 98 to win xp and it cannot find the driver for the sound card. I do not know how to find out what type of sound card it is for me to search for the required driver plz help

Just a thought,control panel---sounds and audio devices--

-look under the hardware tab---highlite sound if it's in
there---properties---update driver(make sure your
connected to the net)..........If you find out the
driver, http://www.driverzone.com/sound.html
