No sound on Music CD

I cannot get any sound from a music CD. I have gone through the sound
troubleshooter and the hardware troubleshooter but no help there. Data Cd's
will open ok and music files on my pc will play ok. Any thoughts for me
please.

Make sure the audio cable is connected from your cd player to your sound
card.

Double click on the loud speaker icon in the systray and make sure CD audio
isn't muted and that the slider is up to max.
