no sound---help plz :(

I recently had to reintall XP and now I have no sound. I have tried
everything that I can think of to solve this, but no luck so far. What can I
do to fix my problem?

Did you reinstall the software for your sound card?

That's the thing. My dell pc didn't come with any disks. I had to use the
XP install cd that came with my dell laptop.

Thanks Steven for trying to help. While I was waiting and hoping someone
would help me, I was viewing similar posts as mine. And about the time I
repled to your post, I found one that helped me. I have sound again!
