No sound at all

After a clean re-install of Windows XP Home, I have no sound at all. What
do I need to do to correct this?

Install all the proper hardware drivers for each hardware component.
Windows XP does not come with every hardware driver for every hardware
component made before it was created or after it was created - so you have
to visit the manufacturer's web pages for each component to get the drivers
for these things.

- Motherboard/mainboard/chipset
- Video Card
- Sound Card
- Network card

etc...
